PESHAWAR: With 85 points, Kohat secured the overall trophy of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-District Boys Games for the Kohat region on Wednesday.

District Kohat won 10 gold and three silver medals with Karak claiming second place with 65 points after five gold and six silver medals while Hangu (45) finished third.

Karak clinched the overall trophy in athletics with six wins, followed by Kohat with four.

Goals from Haris (14th minute), Bilal (29th) and Atif (49th) gave Kohat a 3-0 win over Hangu in the hockey event while they also beat them 3-0 in badminton.

Kohat won the tennis event against Karak 2-0 while also beating them in basketball (45-42) and karate (85-65) while also prevailing in wrestling, squash and table tennis. They also won the gymnastics title with 125 points ahead of Karak (86) and Hangu (72).

Karak won the football title by beating Hangu 3-0 while Hangu turned the tables in volleyball, winning 25-21, 25-20, 27-25.

The Games are being organised in two phases, with districts taking part first before all seven regions competing in the second.
