Faisal Edhi, son of late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi, on Saturday said the men accused of looting the Edhi Foundation head office in Karachi in 2014 allegedly threatened him of "dire consequences" if he did not stop pursuing legal action against them.
In October 2014, eight robbers stormed into the Edhi Foundation head office in Mithadar, held its staff hostage at gunpoint, woke up the late philanthropist who had the keys to the safe and took away at least Rs170 million in gold and cash.

Edhi, who now heads the non-profit organisation in place of his deceased father, said that three of the accused present during Saturday's hearing allegedly threatened him as he and his lawyer were leaving the court premises.
"They warned me and said that we still haven't learned a lesson from the incident," the foundation's director said.
All six accused in the case had been granted bail and were released earlier.
Edhi added that that some of the accused in the case fail to show up for hearings citing medical grounds.
"An arrest warrant against them must be issued so they can be presented in court," the director of Edhi Foundation said.
Edhi and his lawyer filed a formal complaint to the area police station following the incident, making the same demand.
"Faisal Edhi has nominated the persons who threatened him and the police are looking into his complaint to take legal action," said Karachi-South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Azad Khan
Khan added the police is investigating the incident and will soon decide on what legal action can be taken.

The incident took place in 2014 and police is still investigating it. There is no protection of victim and they are on their own. There is also no protection of witnesses and they are on their own as well. There is always protection for murderers, thieves and robbers in our system. One word, Shame. Say it million times and it won't be enough.

And on what evidence were these criminals freed and how? Please name the Judge in this case since this article is not complete until readers know who's the Judge that freed these men. It's even more disturbing that these gangsters are free to threaten Faisal Edhi while still in the courthouse?

Salute to this great foundation. We Pakistanis trust Edhi foundation perhaps more than any other foundation or ngo in our country. You know when you can make half a million dollar in half an hour by just standing in the middle of Lahore or Karachi for donations, people have love for you. I wonder if the Judge who granted bail to these robbers has any conscious and sense of justice I think their bail should be revoked immediately and they all stay in custody until the final decision.

Aren't some of us are even below an animal? Those who looted Edhi now want that they should be declared as innocent as if nothing s happened but if not then they will teach life remembering lesson to the complainant for lodging theft report against the culprits. Happened to me too that too on court premises. Went to identify a criminal who hijacked friends car. One of his colleagues chained by police threatened me. These robbers caught while in act or with strong evidence must be punished even.if the victim doesn't testify.

That is why ATCs are required - fast and quick verdict. And then hopefully in compliance with Islamic justice the robbers losing their hands before they start raising and threatening the victims. That is the way it should be. Just, quick and violent retribution for the criminals.
