KHAIRPUR, July 25: At least 30 growers of Faiz Ganj and Sobhodero Talukas have been booked for water theft, under the Irrigation Act 61/62,

The accused had stolen water from watercourses No 32-R, 37-R, 38-R and 43-EL of Faiz Ganj Taluka and No RD-4 and IA-2 of Sobhodero.

WOMAN KILLED: A woman, Manzooran, 28, was killed by her stepson, Imdad Jatoi, in Deh Aalipur late Wednesday night.After killing her, he threw her body in a canal. His father registered a case with the Babarloi police.

TRANSFERRED: The Inspector General of Sindh, Syed Kamal Shah, has transferred the District Police Officer, Investigations, Khairpur, Shamsuddin Korai, on Thursday.He has been replaced by Agha Tahir.

Mr Shamsuddin has been asked to report at the CPO, Karachi.

TWO INJURED: Three armed men barged into the house of Iqbal and Manzoor Jogi and injured both in the Johi Mohalla, Priyaloi, Kingri Taluka, late Wednesday night.

The armed men were trying to rob them of their household belongings but when Iqbal and Manzoor offered resistance the former opened fire injuring both.
