PESHAWAR: Legendary squash player Jansher Khan on Tuesday lauded the election of Air Vice Marshall Shahid Akhtar Alvi as the Senior Vice-President of Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) in a recently held 44th Annual General Meeting held in Islamabad.

Jansher expressed hope that the game of squash is likely to receive a big boost in the country due to Shahid’s personal interest in the game.

“Pakistan squash could regain its lost glory if the federation officials and the players coordinate well and work hard,” said Jansher.

He recalled that when Shahid was appointed in Peshawar, he rendered unforgettable services for the development of squash.

The record eight-time World Open champion also thanked to President PSF, Air Chief Marshall Sohail Aman for his continuous support for the game and his efforts to ensure top security for the tournaments.

“PSF showed that we can provide complete security to the international players in Pakistan by conducting six squash tournaments here last year in which

most of the international players participated,” added Jansher. “Now Pakistan has also conducted the PSL final and I sincerely feel that international events will return.”
