Pakistan Navy on Thursday conducted a successful test of a land-based, anti-ship missile, APP reported.
A press release from the Navy said that the trial was conducted from the coastal region and the missile secured a hit on a target placed at sea.
The missile is equipped with advanced technology and avionics, which enable engagement of targets at sea with a high degree of accuracy.
The event was witnessed by Vice Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Khan Hasham Bin Saddique and senior officers of Pakistan Navy.
Admiral Saddique commended the successful accomplishment of the objectives of the trial and lauded the hard work and efforts of all those who were involved, specifically appreciating the crew of the missile unit.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah in his message said that the weapon system has added a new dimension to the operational reach of Pakistan Navy, allowing it to bolster seaward defences by giving the Navy the capability to launch long-range, anti-ship missiles from land.

Gone are days when enemy could have choked us by blocking Karachi. But now, if they adventure towards Gwadar, they will be vulnerable to these types of missiles. Navy role has been enhanced significantly in emerging geo-political developments. Way to go! Best of Luck Pakistan Navy!

Agreed good news for Pak Armed forces but remember economy and arms go hand in hand, so we are hearing all these missile development explosions on the arms side of it but we are not hearing any development explosions from the economy side of it, why?
If Pak continue down this path then it will be equivalent to walking with a drag where one leg works and the other doesn't and I think we all know what to expect if that happens? Let me make it clear the body breaks down and even the good leg gets affected. Something to ponder...

This is good and all, but Pakistan seriously needs nuclear submarines with MIRV equipped ICBMs which can hide deep inside the Indian Ocean. This is real STRATEGIC deterrence. India is already far ahead and we need some serious catching up business to do.

2. Security concerns may have been there but not in this century. If India attacks it will face sanctions and restrictions and also the bid to UN security council will vanish forever. So India won't initiate any conflict.
