Apple will set up two new research and development centres in Shanghai and Suzhou in China, it said in a statement in its Chinese website on Friday.
Apple said it is adding the two new locations after the two previously announced centres in Beijing and Shenzhen.
It has pledged to invest more than 3.5 billion yuan in research and development in China.
The four centres are expected to open later this year, it said.

Hope R&D centers work on dual sim iphone
Best advantage of dual sim is data and voice can be kept separated and spending budget can be controlled. Also at time of emergency one sim fails other sim can be put to action.
Apple stresses it has no plans for going dual sim.

Suzhou and Shanghai are not far from each other. Just a canal ride away. There is a lot of scientific brain power in China. There are tens of thousands of Chinese with computer science degrees.
