HYDERABAD: The bodies of two traders, who were reportedly kidnapped and tortured to death in Awaran, Balochistan, a day earlier were transported to Hyderabad on Friday.

Navaid Umer Hayat, 38, and Navaid Shafi Mohammad, 20, were relatives and had gone to Turbat and then proceeded to Awaran by a hired vehicle to sell certain confectionery and nimko products, a third relative, Mohammad Zulfiqar, told Dawn, adding that they were kidnapped on March 11 and their tortured bodies were found dumped near Turbat on March 16.

Some law-enforcement agencies’ personnel shifted the bodies to the Awaran Civil Hospital where they were identified by other Hyderabad-based traders, staying in Turbat.

The driver of the vehicle hired by the victims had informed the Hyderabad traders about the incident and since then his mobile phone had remained switched off, said Zulfiqar.
