WE should reflect on the eventful day, March 23, that brought us a unique gift in the form of a sovereign country, Pakistan that belongs to us all in which we could live, practice and develop values, beliefs and a culture of our own.

We further need to resolve this year that we as a nation would work for unity to end the curse of terrorism by helping in the Operation Raddul Fasaad launched by our armed forces. We must not ignore the bloody turmoil that many countries in our neighborhood are passing through, some of them on the verge of even disintegration.

We must help raise awareness in our new generation about Pakistan’s solidarity and integrity.

If we want to see a peaceful and stable Pakistan we will have to be just and fair, honest and sincere, and reject the corrupt, parochial, sycophants and zealots.
