A 20-year-old girl and a prayer leader were killed in case of suspected honour killing on Saturday near Naushahro Feroze in Sindh.

SSP Naushahro Feroze Pervez Ahmed Chandio said a police team has been formed to investigate the double homicide.

“We formed a team under the supervision of DSP City Jan Mohammad Mughari to investigate the ghastly act,” said the SSP.

He added the tortured bodies of both victims were dumped in the village from where they were recovered by police officials.

The body of the prayer leader was recovered from a seminary and the girl’s body was recovered buried in the graveyard of her village. Both bodies bore torture marks.

“The SHO of the area has informed me that the girl’s father suspected her daughter of having illicit relations with the prayer leader,” said SSP Chandio.

Raids were being conducted to arrest the accused, added the police official.
