LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri was admitted to a hospital in Canada on Sunday due to an illness where he spent a day in the emergency ward, but has now been shifted to a regular ward after his condition improved.

According to PAT secretary general Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, a few weeks of investigations were required for complete diagnosis of the rootcause of the problem with Dr Qadri. Various tests had been conducted and their results were awaited.

Initially, the PAT chief was shifted to the hospital due to intestinal obstruction and received treatment. Doctors had informed Qadri that there was no blood circulation in his intestines whose shrinkage could be the root cause.
