A man strangled his 15-year-old daughter to death on Tuesday in a suspected honour killing incident in Islamabad, police officials told DawnNews.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of Golra police station.
The accused confessed to killing his daughter over ‘honour’, in video footage available with DawnNews. He refrained from sharing details about the incident.
The reported confession was confirmed by Golra police and they stated that the accused surrendered himself after allegedly killing the girl.
The corpse of the girl has been sent for postmortem.
The victim's mother registered a First Information Report (FIR) against her husband in the case and further investigations are underway.

This father lost it. He lost control of himself. It was not premeditated murder. It just happened. She talked back. He choked her. In Dallas, a Pakistan immigrant shot his two teen aged daughters to death in a taxi. He chased after them with a gun. He could have stopped himself. There is a legal difference between murder and manslaughter.

Unusual case, as everything after the crime happened rationally. Father turned himself in and accepted the crime he committed, his subconscious accepting what he did was wrong. The mother filed an FIR against her husband, highly commendable.

Women are the most essential part of our society and I believe in their empowerment, protection and emancipation so that they can equally contribute towards development and prosperity of our country but in Pakistan women are victim of verbal and physical abuse, sexual harassment and honor killing.
The culprits must be brought to justice without any delay. Acceptance of such acts in society is unacceptable. The criminals should be prosecuted swiftly. It is not honor killing, it's just plain murder.

Pity on the tribe/clan who alleviate the honour of a father after killing her daughter. Life to buy the honour is not a best bargain.

it is not just a crime, it is also a challenge to the writ of law as in the most cases the culprit proudly acts as daredevil and presents himself to the police. With no remorse on the part of the killers, it is very difficult to change the social attitudes and unless and until there is no shift in the social attitudes it is difficult to stop this crime

May God protect the departed soul. Feel sorry for the father, family and their little girl. Societal pressures and gossip culture is no good. Parents should protect their kids what come may.

I just don't get it. Homicide is honorable but a child suspected of a love interest is deplorable and deserves to die. The term honor killing is reprehensible and should be avoided. The perpetrators here are cold hearted killers driven by misogyny.

Curious, why is the post mortem needed when the cause of death is known to be choking by the culprit?
As for the cuplrit, I hope he has a special eternal place reserved in the bottom of the hell.

Nobody seems to focus that why this crime actually took place? why a father got compelled to kill his own daughter? What had the daughter done which made her a victim and which, if, she had not done, could have avoided the mishap.

It's tragic not commendable
You don't kill your children just because you don't agree with them.
The mother filed the FIR so that she can later pardon the husband.
