PESHAWAR: Humam Ahmad made another upset when he defeated top seed Sehraz Akbar of PAF and took berth in the semi-finals of the under-11 category of the Pakistan Red Crescent National Junior Squash Championship being played at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Friday.

With this victory Humam set up showdown against Pakistan No. 1 Ahad Shoukat in the final to be played on Saturday at 3.00pm.

The score was 11-6, 7-11, 11-7, 10-12 and 12-10.

Ahad Shoukat recorded 8-11, 11-6, 11-6 and 11-6 victory against Mohammad Ahmad.

In the under-13 category, Pakistan No. 1 Mohammad Ammad of PAF defeated Waleed Khalil of KP 11-8, 11-4 and 11-8.

In the U-15 category, Asad Ullah of PAF and Farhan Hashmi of Punjab took berth into the final.

Asad defeated his strong rival Khushal Riaz 11-4, 8-11, 10-12, 11-4 and 11-8.

It was in the second semi-final when Farhan Hashmi recorded victory against Ali Jansher of PAF by 3-1, the score was 11-7, 7-11, 11-3 and 11-4.

In the U-17 category, top seed Uzair Shoukat of PAF and Oan Abbas of Punjab reached the final after recording victories against their respective rivals in the semi-finals.

In the first semi-final, Oan Abbas defeated Hamza Sharif of PAF 11-9, 10-12, 11-6, 12-14 and 11-9.

In the second semi-final, Uzair Shoukat beat Saqib Iqbal 11-4, 12-10 and 14-12.

Saqib gave tough resistance to Uzair Shoukat in the three-set battle.

In the girls U-15, Laiba Ijaz defeated Hira Aqeel 11-8, 11-9 and 11-8 while Nimra Aqeel defeated Maira Khan 11-8, 5-11, 11-9 and 11-7.
