TAXILA: The local administration has intensified its campaign against wall chalking in Hassanabdal aimed at making the city clean and beautiful on the occasion of Besakhi festival at Gurdwara Punja Sahib.

The TMA staff, on the directives of deputy commissioner Attock Rana Akbar Hayat carried out the operation at all major roads leading to the Sikh temple. Banners and flags of different political and religious parties were also removed from the electricity poles by the official of tehsil municipal administration.

The deputy commissioner Attock Rana Akbar Hayat also warned that stern action would be taken against those found involved in wall-chalking. “Cases will be registered against the violators under the relevant act,” he said.

Besides, he said, the administration had prepared a list of educational institutions, health clinics, palmists and hostels, doing wall chalking.
