SWABI: An exchange of fire between two rival families over a dispute resulted in killing of two people and injuring of two others here on Sunday, said police.

The incident occurred in Jalbai village of Chota Lahor tehsil in the jurisdiction of Tordher police station.

When contacted, SHO Tordher Khalid Iqbal Khan told Dawn that a police party reached the troubled spot soon after being informed of the incident and succeeded to arrest four people.

He said that the cause of the killings was a women dispute which had been running between the two families for last three years.

Both the families got registered cross FIRs.

Raj Malik was killed from one family and Shahzad from the other, while Raj’s uncle Abdul Malik and cousin Khalid Khan were seriously injured.

Family of Shahzad belonged to Jehangira village and that of Raj to Jalbai village.

The police also seized two Kalashnikovs and a repeater, and were continuing raids to arrest those who escaped the area.
