DERA MURAD JAMALI: A strike was observed on Tuesday at the call of the Hindu Panchayat in the Tilli Van area of Sibi in protest against an attempt to take over a temple.

All business centres, markets and shopping plazas remained closed throughout the day. Traffic also remained thin on roads.

The strike was endorsed by several political parties, including the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Pakistan Peoples Party and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, and by the Vice Chairman of the Sibi Municipal Committee, Mir Shahdad Khan Marri, and tribal elders.
