KHAIRPUR: A large number of people led by Therhi town committee chairman Qazi Azizur Rehman held protest demonstrations at different places in Khairpur on Friday against electricity outage for four days.

They raised slogans against the Sukkur Electric Supply Company outside the DC office but after getting no response from the district officials, they proceeded to the Sepco office in the city and ransacked it.

The office sustained extensive damage before police moved in to bring the situation under control.

A senior Sepco official, when contacted for comment, said that power supply to the area was suspended to recover heavy dues outstanding against many defaulters.
