British police on Tuesday arrested a British man of Pakistani origin for allegedly verbally abusing and misbehaving with an air hostess during a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight.
Airline sources said a group of five men of Pakistani origin were travelling together on flight PK-791 from Islamabad to Birmingham.
During the flight, the cabin crew found 2-3 men from the group allegedly smoking in the lavatory, a serious violation of flight rules.
Airline sources claimed that when an air hostess confronted the men over their action, they began misbehaving with her. One man in particular hurled verbal abuse at the flight attendant, they alleged.
The air hostess complained about the incident to the pilot, who upon landing in Birmingham alerted the police.
British police personnel then made a number of passengers connected to the incident disembark and later arrested one man from the group.
When contacted, PIA Spokesman Danyal Gilani said that the airline is looking into the matter.

It's very common to see people smoking in Islamabad airport international departure lounge. Usually there is no one to enforce no smoking laws. There is a smoking area it's usually empty.

We are reading lot of such incidents on UK bound PIA flights. One significant incident in which the plot alerted the London airport after getting threats from passengers. As a result RAF typhoons escorted the plan to other airport.....
People should not forget manners after getting British passport....

We have got this mentality that we can do whatever we want when in Pakistan or travelling through our own airline. I have seen people jumping over each other, no cues at Islamabad airport and when they arrive here they become so innocent that it seems they have done nothing wrong in their whole lives. Unbelievable.

Well done HPP (Hostess, Pilot and Police). However, it must be ensured by the authorities that neither the hostess nor the pilot are harmed by the relatives ad friends of the one who has been arrested simply because many times some people turned revengeful and the complainant had to pay back through nose. Today I was asked here in Pakistan by the staff if my stay was comfortable and the suite was nice & clean. I told them the sofa had stains. The receptionist then apologised and said it is the children of guests who behave very badly, when we complain to the parents they say, children do these things. My response was that is where the problem lies because the parents don't teach the children to behave properly. The fish rots from the top.

@Abbas you're allowed to take cigarettes and a lighter as long as the lighter doesn't have a constant flame like a Zippo lighter. I know because mine got confiscated. On the way back I had a normal one and there was no problem.

These goons are not Pakistani citizens according to International law.I had the unfortunate incident of traveling with such British clowns from Manchester to Lahore when some of them took out alcohol bottles from their hand bags and became tipsy and foul mouth.I recommend Pakistan should have a data base for such offenders and they should barred for traveling to Pakistan for life.PIA staff often gets a bad wrap but my experience of travel tells me they are a wonderful group of young men and women who deal with such dirt bags on daily basis.

@Sami Ullah Swati that is not strictly true. Most of these from Birmingham are Mirpuris or Punjabis and their backward behavior can be seen on the streets on Coventry road, alum rock etc.
Many are ill-educated and have this 'i am a tough guy gangster' mentality, except in Pakistan outside of their villages where they know what happens to you when you display this tough guy image to the wrong people, and so this behavior they display in many places except for the USA where they know their lane. They have been here since the 70's and many for them have not progressed outside their village mentality and polluting the UK with their bridari politics that have corrupted the native white politicians in order to win the vote in their respective localities.
Their behavior during our blessed Islamic month of Ramadan and especially Eid is disgraceful.

This is why British Airways has refused to fly to pakistan -- and so has Air France -- and so has Lufthansa -- in fact, not a single European airline flies to pakistan (Turkey is NOT a part of Europe).
Neither does any American or Canadian airline fly to pakistan - United or American or Air Canada or Delta) -- none of them flies to pakistan.
pia is the only choice that pakistanis have to fly direct to Europe and North America -- and pia knows that.
