A 7-year-old girl was brutally raped and murdered in Kasur on Tuesday evening, police sources told Dawn.
According to the Station House Officer (Saddar Police) Sardar Younis, the young girl had left her house in the evening to buy milk, but never returned home. Later that night, her body was found in a park near her house in the Saddar area.
The police officer said that there were indications that the girl was raped before she was strangulated.
According to Younis, a First Investigation Report has been registered against unidentified assailants under Sections 302 and 363 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
An investigation into the matter is currently underway.

When something like this happens my anger goes through the roof. The child would be traumatized for the rest of her life. The person who allegedly did this must be a deranged person. What the legal system is supposed to do? Perhaps, a sentence for the offender which could deter others and some sort of professional counseling for the child. A word of caution is that the parents should never leave young children unattended.

When will this stop. What is government doing to stop this. Seriously poor people in Pakistan has no security or life. It is so sad. They gave VVIP security to foreign players for PSL but what about their own people & children where everyday they die like animals.
Shame on you government!!!

Correction. In my initial comment I suggested counseling for the child. However, if she is murdered then the counseling to child is a dead issue ,the only thing left for the offender is an exemplary punishment so it could deter others and send a message to the community.

Cannot understand how anyone would want to rape a seven year old. That's beyond me. I can see how he would not want anyone to find out. If he has done this once he will do it again if he is not stopped.

Government of Pakistan should make it mandatory to collect DNA samples of every person residing in Pakistan and this information should be added to individual data with NADRA. During emergency this DNA data can be matched with the samples of the DNA tests collected from the crime scenes. If possible this information should also be included in every CNIC / Passport / Driving License etc.It will save time and make it easy to reach the culprits etc etc.

Is there no way to provide protection for these kids? People in every neighborhood should come together to create some kind of 'watch' to keep eyes and help small kids who are out on the streets. It's not that hard.

Obviously, the law is non existent or too weak and lenient for there predators that's why we read stories like this almost every month happening somewhere in Pakistan. Our leaders and politicians don't care about stories like rapes or murders because their families live in well protected houses and palaces and their families and children travel in cars and suvs.
