PESHAWAR: A court on Wednesday remanded a local Pashto singer to judicial custody on charges of sexually assaulting a woman.

Police had arrested the signer, Shah Sawar, on Tuesday night and presented him in the court of judicial magistrate Saima Irfan, who sent him to jail on judicial remand for 14 days. A woman had earlier registered FIR against him accusing him of sexual assault.

The court also sent the woman to the Darul Aman and directed the police to conduct medical examination of the complainant.
