KARACHI, July 29: A tanker from the United Arab Emirates will arrive here in the next two days to lift crude from a tanker that ran aground on Sunday night off the coast of Karachi, port officials said on Monday.

Rear Admiral Nishat Rafi, general manager of operations at the Karachi Port, said the crude would be carried to a berth at the port to loading in a new chartered tanker, A Dow Jones website said on Tuesday.

Port officials earlier said the vessel ran aground after high tides caused it to drift into one of the port’s channels.
