The Frontier Corps and intelligence agencies on Sunday recovered a large cache of weapons in joint operations conducted in Kurram and Orakzai agencies, a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

Rockets, improvised explosive devices, grenades and mortar bombs were seized in raids conducted in Orakzai Agency's Kalaya and Parachinar in Kurram Agency, the statement said.

ISPR claimed that the large cache of weapons seized "was an indication that a major terrorist attack had been averted."

Communication equipment was also recovered, the statement said.

"Underground tunnels established by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan were destroyed," in Kalaya during the operation, the statement added.
