CHITRAL: The four-day Kagh Lusht Festival started here on Thursday at Kagh Lusht situated at the confluence of the valleys of Mastuj, Mulkhow and Torkhow.
Chitral district nazim Maghfirat Shah inaugurated the festival by hoisting the national flag at the venue of competitions. On the first day, matches of polo, football and volleyball were held besides a number of traditional sports of Chitral.
Speaking on the occasion, he announced to include the festival in the calendar of events of the district government so that it could be held every year. He said that tug-of-war, weightlifting, mountain race and many other competitions involving local sports would be held during the festival.
People from all parts of the district thronged Kagh Lusht and a tented village has been established near the venue of festival. The festival will conclude on Sunday.
