Three killed in Haripur

HARIPUR, July 31: Three persons were killed while five others, including two women, sustained injuries on Thursday in separate incidents.

Police said Safdar Hussain Shah was shot dead by his rivals over an old feud in village Malikyar.

The victim’s mother told police officials that his son was released from jail and had gone to take reveng against his rivals for allegedly implicating him in a firing case.

When he reached his rival’s residence, he was fired at with sophisticated weapons and seriously injured by Abdul Rasheed and his son. He was immediately taken to a hospital but could not survive and died.

In another incident which was reported from Alooli village some 20km from here, Sagheer Ahmad son of Abdul Hameed was strangulated over having illicit relations with a girl belonging to the same village. Abdul Hameed in his FIR lodged with PS Kahalabat accused Fazal-ur-Rehman and Mumtaz, the uncles of the girl, of murdering his son.

In a road accident a young man Irfan was killed when his Suzuki pickup was hit by a bus near Dohrian Chowk Hattar. The accident left the mother, wife, father and two sons of the dead seriously injured.
