A Chinese man, Wang Xian, is facing deportation from Pakistan following his arrest last year for attempting to carry lethal weapons in to China.

Xian was arrested in May 2016, convicted in an anti-terrorism court and sentenced to 10 years.

His sentence was later commuted to four years. Upon a subsequent appeal filed in the Peshawar High Court, his four-year sentence was further switched to deportation.

Secretary GB Bilal Memon, while speaking to DawnNews, said the Federal Investigation Agency is prepared to send Xian back to China on May 2.

Earlier in March, two Chinese nationals had been arrested in a case pertaining to stealing data from an automated teller machine (ATM).
