LAHORE: It is surprising to note that Quetta and Fata, who have almost zero share in the national squad and PCB affairs, are among top three Pakistan Cricket Board regions with the most number of cricket clubs.
Quetta enjoys the second position with 234 clubs while Fata has occupied the third place with 222 clubs.
Sialkot tops the list with 286 clubs.
There are 2,761 clubs, with playing and voting rights, functioning in 16 regions, spread across the country, of the PCB.
Multan (214) and Peshawar (211) are occupying the next two places.
Karachi, which is the biggest city of the country, is lying at the sixth place with 187 clubs.
Abbottabad (181) and Hyderabad (177) come next.
Lahore with 166 clubs is at the ninth position.
Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) sits at the 10th place with 162 clubs.
Islamabad is at the bottom of the list with just 57 clubs.
Even, Bahawalpur (158), Faisalabad (144), Dera Murad Jamali (125), Rawalpindi (121) and Larkana (116) are running far ahead of the capital city.
Islamabad is part of the Board of Governors with three other regions—Karachi, Peshawar and Rawalpindi.
