PESHAWAR: Komal Khan and Noor-ul-Huda reached the under-19 final while Noor-ul-Ain Ejaz and Laiba Ijaz booked their berths in under-15 final of the Nazim Peshawar National Junior Girls Squash Championship being played at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex here on Wednesday.

The finals will be played on Thursday.

In a U-19 semi-final, Komal upset Amina 3-1 in a thrilling match.

Komal lost the first set 10-12 but staged a strong comeback in subsequent sets which she won 11-9, 12-10 and 11-9. In the second semi-final, Noor-ul-Huda thumped Kaibat in straight sets (11-6, 11-7, 11-6).

In a U-15 semi, Noor-ul-Ain Ejaz recorded straight sets victory against Hira Aqeel.

Hira played well and her forceful smashes created a panic like situation for Noor in the first set, but the latter somehow managed to win it 12-10.

Noor again faced tough resistance from Hira in the second set when the latter was leading 7-2 and then 9-3 but Noor came back strongly and levelled the score first at 7-7 and then at 9-all before winning it 11-9.

It was the third and decisive set which Noor comfortably won 11-6.

In the second semi-final, third seeded Laiba Ijaz upset second seed Nimra in a marathon five-set battle. The score was 12-10, 9-11, 10-12, 13-11 and 11-9.

The match lasted 52 minutes.
