SUKKUR, Aug 1: Two most wanted dacoits of the Bugti tribe were killed in an encounter between dacoits and the Frontier Constabulary, near Sui, Balochistan, on Friday.

The dacoits, armed with Kalashnikovs, were on their way to Sui from Buxapur on a motorcycle.

A police picket of the Frontier Constabulary, recently established in the area, signalled them to stop and prove their identity.

However, instead of stopping, they opened fire on the Frontier Constabulary men.

The latter retaliated as a result of which both the dacoits were killed on the spot.

Later, police identified them as Neko Mandrani Bugti and Baggi Chajrani Bugti.

They were wanted by the police of Jacobabad, Rajanpur and Naseerabad.

DETAINED: At least 17 men belonging to two religious groups were detained by the Sukkur Police after a clash over the possession of Munawwar Mosque in Nusrat Colony, Sukkur, on Friday.

Police said that if the two groups failed to settle their dispute peacefully, all the arrested people would be booked and the mosque would be sealed.
