KARACHI: Skipper Fouz-ul-Hasan excelled with a good all-round performance as Omar CC defeated Shalimar CC by 57 runs in their fourth Dollar East T20 Premier League fixture at the Aga Khan Gymkhana Ground here on Thursday.
After opting to bat first, Omar CC collected a healthy 182-3 with Fouz leading the way by making 45 off 42 balls while striking three fours and one six. Talented Danish Aziz, with Fouz added 77 for the second wicket, bludgeoned five sixes and a brace of fours in scoring 48 off only 29 deliveries.
Noor Wali smashed three sixes and two fours to score 47 off 25 balls with Irfan Ali hitting a 16-ball 29 (two sixes and as many fours) as the duo shared an unbroken stand of 56.
Shalimar CC, in reply, were all out for 125 in 19 overs. Opener Hasan Javed struck six boundaries in a 21-ball 35, Rafay Safdar made a 10-ball 26 with included two sixes and a four while Fahaddis Bukhari scored a 28-ball 22 (one fours).
Upcoming all-rounder Hassaan Khan grabbed four wickets for 26 in three overs with his slow left-armers with man-of-the-match Fouz taking 2-20 in four and slow left-armer Asghar Shah picking up 2-20 in his three overs.
