PESHAWAR: Noor-ul-Ain Ejaz and Noor-ul-Huda won the U-15 and U-19 titles, respectively, in the Nazim Peshawar National Junior Girls Squash Championships here at the PAF Hashim Khan Squash Complex on Thursday.

In the U-15 final, Noor-ul-Ain faced tough resistance from Laiba Ijaz in a marathon four-game battle lasting 48 minutes.

After Noor-ul-Ain bagged the opening game 12-10 in a close tussle, Laiba showing her skills staged a strong comeback in the next game which she won 13-11.

Noor-ul-Ain in the seesaw decider then rose again with some near-perfect shots to claim the third game 11-9.

Keeping Laiba under constant pressure, Noor-ul-Ain with better footwork finally emerged victorious as she seized the fourth set 11-9, and with it the title.

Meanwhile, Noor-ul-Huda, the national U-19 female champion, registered a lop-sided triumph against Komal Khan in the U-19 final.

Against the general expectations, Komal failed badly as Noor-ul-Huda reigned supreme and secured the title with a comfortable 11-7, 11-6, 11-5 victory in the final supervised by Gulab Sher, Maqsood Hanif and Nazim Khan.
