HYDERABAD: Hyderabad municipal commissioner Shahid Ali has been placed under suspension under a directive of Local Government Minister Jam Khan Shoro, who has ordered an inquiry into appointment of 13 persons in the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation’s slaughterhouse during the ban period.

The slaughterhouse is located off Tando Mohammad Khan Road.

According to the minister, the appointments were made without approval in February, when a ban on recruitment was in place.

He said he had received complaints about the appointments during his visit to Hyderabad.

He said he had asked the LG director to hold an inquiry into the matter. The municipal commissioner was suspended following the inquiry, he added.
