HYDERABAD: The trussed-up body of a 22-year-old man was found thrown in a garbage dump in the Choori Para locality of the city on Tuesday, officials at the Sakhi Pir police station said.

They identified the victim as Mohammad Ahsan aka Roofi, son of Abdul Aziz. He was a resident of the Ilyasabad area of the city and a glass bangle industry worker by profession, they added.

Sakhi Pir SHO Iftikhar Khanzada told local reporters that some passers-by had spotted the suspicious sack thrown in the garbage dump and informed the area police.

He said a police team rushed to the spot and upon unsealing the sack found the trussed up body with torture mark on its different parts, mainly neck.

The police officer said that the body was taken to the Liaquat University Hospital (LUH), Hyderabad, for legal formalities.

After the victim’s identity was established, his family members were informed about the body, he said.

They [Roofi’s family members] shared nothing with the police except telling them that they were searching for him when he did not return home from his workplace the previous night, the SHO said.
