LAHORE: The National Boys and Girls Junior plus Women’s Senior Squash Championships will begin at the Punjab Squash Complex here from Wednesday.

Punjab Squash Association (PSA) Secretary Shiraz Saleem said that more than 100 boys and 50 girls are participating in the championships which will conclude on May 23.

In the junior’ event, the competitions will be held in the boys under-17 and under-19 categories, while in the female section besides the women’s senior, the matches will also be held in girls under-15 and under-19 events.

The qualifying round will be staged on Wednesday and Thursday, while the main round will get underway from Friday.

The total prize money of the event is Rs 150,000.

Prominent women’s senior players for the main round include Samar Anjum, Sadia Gul, Faiza Zafar, Saima Shaukat, Riffat Khan, Zoya Khalid, Amna Latif, Rushna Mehboob, Bushra Khalid, Zahab K Khan and Iqra Butt.
