Thank you Misbah and Younus

It was the last Test match of the captain Misbah-ul-Haq and Younus Khan and Pakistan won a thrilling third match with just six balls remaining and made history to win a Test series for the first time ever in West Indies.

It was really a great achievement for the Pakistan team and provided a fitting farewell gift to Misbah and Younus Khan. They both said goodbye cricket in style by winning their last series.

During the match Misbah and Younus were respected and honored by the West Indies team and after the match they were honored by the PCB. I appreciate the contributions of both the players but this retirement is very sad for the Pakistan fans.

Recently, Younus Khan completed 10,000 runs in Test cricket and was the first Pakistani player to get this achievement, and Misbah was the best captain ever as he took to the team on the top of the Test ranking.

Whenever the team lost, then we have blamed these players, but they didn’t let anything bring them down and continued playing.

Though it is disappointing for fans, they have taken the right decision to retire and give chance to young players. We salute both the legends and PCB should always be supportive towards them so that they should not face problems in future.

Turn disappointment into an opportunity

This is regarding the cover story “Turn disappointment into an opportunity” by Gulrukh Tausif (YW, April 29). I agree with all the points discussed by the writer in the article. Many of us lose something at some point in our life, which could be marks, a relationship, a gift or expectations and we keep sobbing over it.

It is useless to cry over spilt milk. Instead one should remember that disappointments are part of life and no one can prevent it, but we can decide how to deal with it. One should find ways to turn disappointments into opportunities by thinking positively. Also, one should remember that everything in this world isn’t here to just please us. In life, there are failures as well as successes. So we should always stay positive, act positive and think positive.

Your personal motto

This is with reference to the cover story “Your personal motto” by Gulrukh Tausif (YW, April 1). The topic was great and was written nicely too. I enjoyed reading it.

My personal motto is ‘Duty first’ — duty to my parents and family, duty to the country and to all the humanity and, above all, to God Almighty.

Everyone should have their personal motto to live life accordingly.

Sports column

I am a regular reader of Young World and I love it very much. I love all the sections especially “Story time”, “Jokes”, “Spotlight” and “The weekly weird.”

However, I would like to suggest to the YW team to add a sports column that carries all the news and updates about sports.

I hope it will be a great addition to the magazine.
