HYDERABAD: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari visited Tando Allahyar on Wednesday to meet Ghulam Qadir Mari, his close aide, following his reported recovery in Balochistan by police after he was picked up by unidentified persons on April 7.

He arrived in Tando Allahyar through helicopter and visited farmlands and West Jamrao Canal for around 45 minutes before reaching Ghulam Qadir Mari’s residence in Darya Khan Mari village. Zardari’s farmlands are located in Tando Allahyar.

Zardari met Ghulam Qadir along with his brothers Ismail Mari and Kamboh Mari. He lauded the commitment of their family with the PPP and for remaining steadfast during ‘disappearance’ of their brother. MPAs Zia Abbas Shah and Imdad Pitafi, MNA Mir Munawwar Talpur, chairman district council Tando Allahyar Mian Ali Mohammad Walhari, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi and others were also present.

Sindh police’s Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) claimed to have recovered Mr Mari and Ashfaq Leghari in Balochistan on May 7. He was picked up by unidentified persons on April 7 while he was returning from Larkana.
