LARKANA: The Larkana Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) on Friday claimed to have arrested “a member of banned outfit Lashkar-i-Jhangvi” from within the city who was also wanted by the Shikarpur police in connection with an act of terrorism.

According to a CTD press release, Javed Ahmed, son of Allah Warayo Sanjrani, is a resident of Shikarpur and was found collecting funds for the Lashkar-i-Jhangvi in Larkana city. It said that receipt books were seized from him.

An FIR (No. 5/2017) has been registered under Section 11-F(6) of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) at the Larkana CTD police station, according to a CTD spokesman.

The spokesman said that Javed was nominated in a case pertaining to the torching of oil tankers in 2010 registered at the Faujdari police station of Shikarpur.
