ISLAMABAD: The families of around 20 people who were slaughtered by the custodian of a Sufi shrine in Sargodha on April 2 gathered outside the National Press Club (NPC) on Saturday to demand justice.

The custodian would torture and murder the devotees, who would come to him for the treatment of various physical and mental illnesses.

The protesters alleged that though Waheed, was arrested along with three other companions, his some other colleagues were still at large.

Muhammad Akram, one of the protesters, while talking to Dawn said the companions of the shrine’s custodian were a source of major threat to the people of the area.

“Political personalities and police officers are disciples of the custodian so they are favouring him,” he said.

“The relatives of the deceased have been running from pillar to post to get the justice, that is why we have come to Islamabad as nobody listened to us in Sargodha,” he said.

Protesters have appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to play his role in ensuring justice to them.
