LAHORE: The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is going to launch an ‘enhancement plan’ of the new campus of Air University’s Multan sub-campus on Bahawalpur Road, about 19 kilometres off the city, says a handout.

Currently, a sub-campus of Air University Islamabad is working on Abdali Road in a commercial plaza and 700 students are enrolled here.

After the completion of the new campus enhancement plan, the institution will accommodate more than 5,000 students in the disciplines of Aviation Engineering, Management Sciences, Computer Sciences and Health Sciences which will serve as a cornerstone for social and economic uplift of the people of southern districts of Punjab.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a special committee headed by Additional Chief Secretary Shamail Ahmad Khwaja to ascertain the quantum and kind of meaningful assistance from the government to facilitate the PAF in expeditious completion of the enhancement plan of the Air University’s sub-campus.

A meeting of the special committee was held under the chairmanship of ACS Shamail Ahmad Khawaja at Civil Secretariat.

The enhancement plan comprises four phases including construction of four academic blocks and three residential hostels.
