PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department on Thursday notified appointment of vice-chancellors of nine universities across the province.

Sources said that Prof Dr Asif Khan has been appointed vice-chancellor of the University of Peshawar; Prof Dr Iftikhar Hussain VC University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar; and Prof Dr Imitaz Ali Khan as VC University of Swabi.

Prof Dr Qamarul Wahab has been appointed vice-chancellor of Shuhada-i-APS University of Technology, Nowshera; Dr Jehan Bakht VC University of Karak; and Dr Azaamul Asar VC of Bannu University of Technology.

Among others, Dr Saqlain Naqvi has been appointed VC of Bacha Khan University, Charsadda; Dr Kaleem Abbasi VC of University of Haripur; and Prof Dr Jamil Ahmed as VC at University of Kohat for a period of three years.

It may be mentioned that the appointment of VCs in these universities was pending for a long time.
