Stories about animals are always interesting and true stories are all the more so. There have been many incidents in Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) life where things in nature, plants and animals have responded or talked to him, stunning those who witnessed these incidents.

Stories of Animals and Trees Talking to Rasulullah (PBUH), is a book detailing, in a story-like fashion, our dear Prophet’s interactions with non-humans, showing us, among other things, his kind attitude towards animals and great concern for their welfare.

His ability to communicate with animals made him become aware of their needs and he was thus able to sympathise with them and help them.

Talking to Rasulullah (PBUH)

For instance in story “The Doe Which Spoke to Rasulullah”, we see his kindness towards the doe that led him to set it free to return to her babies. In other stories, we learn about the respect and obedience shown by animals and objects to the Holy Prophet, for instance in “The Tree Which Spoke to Rasulullah,” a tree walked up to the Holy Prophet and gave witness that what he said was true. The person who questioned the truth of the Holy Prophet’s words was stunned at seeing this and he quickly accepted Islam.

These are some of the gems from the life of Prophet Muhammad that is being shared in this simply and concisely written book for children. But the book is too heavy to be held comfortably so if it can be reprinted in a smaller format, it would be more reader-friendly.

The attractive illustrations take up more of the space in the book than the text, so making the book in a handy format shouldn’t be a problem.

But it’s a gem of a book, no doubt.
