Harry Potter concert series to return

Harry Potter is going to be brought to life — again — at the Royal Albert Hall. A run of six screenings of the first Harry Potter film accompanied by a live orchestra has just come to an end at the Royal Albert Hall and now the second instalment of JK Rowling’s famous franchise, Harry Potter And The Chamber Of Secrets, will be set to music in three shows at the venue in 2018.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at the Royal Albert Hall, said: “We’re delighted to announce that the Harry Potter Film Concert Series will be returning to the Hall — along with a full symphony orchestra — for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Concert.

“These very special screenings will allow audiences to relive the magic and adventure of this extraordinary film in high-definition on a 40ft screen, while experiencing John Williams’ epic score as they’ve never heard it before.”

ABC announced pop singer Katy Perry as the first judge for its new version of American Idol.

“We are ecstatic to welcome @katyperry as a judge on ABC’s #AmericanIdol!” the show’s Twitter account said.

“So thrilled @ABCNetwork is bringing back @AmericanIdol, and I’m bringing it back to the MUSIC [eye emoji] you at auditions,” Perry tweeted.

American Idol ran 15 seasons on FOX, ending in 2016. ABC confirmed recently that it is bringing the singing competition show back in 2018, but it hadn’t indicated until now who might host or judge it.
