ISLAMABAD: The capital police conducted search operations in various areas and took 31 suspects into custody on Tuesday, a police spokesperson said.

Following the National Action Plan (NAP), officials of the Islamabad police, Rangers and other security agencies conducted search operations in various areas of the city including Faizabad, Mandi More, Nilore and others where they checked houses and took 31 people into custody for further investigations.

Separately, the Bhara Kahu police arrested five gamblers during a raid and recovered money and other valuables from them.

The Bhara Kahu police also arrested a man after recovering 145 gms of heroin while the Aabpara police arrested two persons for stealing electronics. The Tarnol police held a man for the possession of 1.3kg of hashish and 1.06 kg of heroin.

The capital police also arrested 68 alm seekers from across the city and legal proceedings have been started against them.
