Nisar concerned as US administration appears to 'speak India's language'

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar on Tuesday expressed concern over what he said was the administration of United States (US) President Donald Trump 'speaking India's language', a day after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Trump during an official trip to the US.
In the run-up to the meeting, the US State Department designated Hizbul Mujahideen leader Syed Salahuddin a global terrorist and slapped sanctions on him ─ a move slammed by the Foreign Office today as 'completely unjustified'.
"It seems as though the blood of Kashmiris in not at all important to the US, and international laws relating to human rights do not apply to Kashmir," Nisar said.
Accusing the Indian government of serious human rights violations in India-held Kashmir, and of trying to paint 'freedom fighters as terrorists', Nisar said that Indian acts should concern every principled nation.
The interior minister said that deliberately overlooking 'the worst kind of state terrorism' in IHK has not only adversely impacted the values of justice and international principles, but also laid bare the double standards of powers who claim to champion human rights and democratic values.
Nisar asserted that the Pakistani government would not compromise on the rights of Kashmiris, and that the struggle would continue until Kashmiris receive justice and their rights as defined in United Nations' resolutions.
The interior minister further said that the nation is united in sending a message of solidarity to Kashmir, and remains firmly committed to providing Kashmir diplomatic, political and moral support.

It's about time pakistan sets up a special branch to project it's interests on the international stage. Which I am afraid is sadly lacking as is our media, the media in Pakistan needs to become extremely professional in its approach, at the current time its extremely amateurish. Our presentation on the international stage is do important. But unfortunately this does not seem to be projected on the international stage .

I believe Pakistan should not take it seriously as the person does not appear to have any respect even in serious US and world community. He is there to destabilize the ME, Asia and the whole world. In that attempt, I am sure he will degrade the US global role and might loose his presidency as well. On the other hand, Modi has got his like minded and approached US president and administration which they will try to use for their best possible interests. Frankly speaking, he has to do his best possible to counter CPEC.

Morality has no role in international relations. It's all about a nations interests. Currently the interests of the US and India align on multiple levels therefore to the United States the human rights of the people of Indian occupied Kashmir mean nothing. As a result the Indian government can literally get away with murder without a word of condemnation from the international community. So what should Pakistan do? First of all we need to get our own house in order and realize once and for all that America has never been and will never be a a dependable partner. Secondly we need to strengthen further our ties with China in all spheres. Thirdly we need to have a new approach in terms of our relationship with our neighbors including India. Fourth, fight even more mercilessly against terrorists not because of pressure from outside but for our own sake. Finally, the people of Pakistan need to wake up and elect leaders that keep the interest of the nation above their own selfish interests.

Over the last 20 years that I have been keenly following geo-politics, I was always afraid of the US-Pakistan closeness and defence cooperation. US used to supply military planes to Pakistan and other aid. The turning-point and blessing for India came when Osama was discovered inside Pakistan. That changed everything.

It is for the prime minister to issue such a statement, not the domain of the Interior minister. Why are the foreign minister and the prime minister, Nawaz Sharif in both cases so unconcerned and smugly silent. Now everyone can see the true reality and real nature of his telephone call to Trump a few months ago.

Call it GCC-2. Saudis and Emiratees changed their tune against Qatar barely two weeks after that much touted pow-wow supposedly to bring all Muslims together in a united alliance - after Trump made his first overseas visit.
Now, Indian PM's first visit with Trump is beginning to show its true purpose. Pakistan should hedge its bets away from US and Saudi to China, Russia, Iran and Turkey to maintain its strategic balance. US has never been reliable partner or ally. It would be foolish for us to continue to believe otherwise.

What a sad state of affairs of my beloved Sindhu Dharti's people. They both are looking for friends far away and yet brothers are fighting and others are taking advantage of it.
What kind of leaders we have in the shape of Narendra and Nawaz both are incapable to simply sit down and talk. Both are backed by millions of religious extremist who pull their strings to control the so call elected leaders, who can't resolve core issues of Kashmir, because they are too much into land and religion.
I pray to Almighty give us leaders who take bold decision to bring peace in Sindhu Dharti Maa's Children. We don't need US or others we just need two Indus Brothers to come together to become a mighty force where these weapons they sell us to make billions are never needed by other nations. Let my people meet each other and let the love spread. Stop with this hate spreading by Hindutava/Jihadis

All this geopolitics - one thing to remember - if your country is looking for aid or loans continuously then you have no power to shape anything externally as you are always beholden to outside powers. So in your example of siding with Iran - your country depends a lot on remittances from Saudi Arabia and the UAE and hence you will never be able to go against them.
Surely a better approach is an internal one. Admit there are many problems, announce your policy for the next 10 years will be Pakistan first and issues with Kashmir will be put on ice, deal with internal issues of poverty, illiteracy, extremism, terrorism, health etc. Once you are strong the world will listen to you, but at the moment don't kid yourself and think you hold any leverage with any external power.

USA has a business savory president in the driving seat and More than a Billion People are more than enough to speak their language on Itl forum if his USA has to get the benefits of such a market place full of consumers . Who cares if it unsettle some feathers in the so called Non Nato Ally , after all there is a bill afoot in the USA congress to even withdraw that title . Look after your own national interests dude , that's the msg , like it or not , you have to live with it for the next 3.5 years and who knows it could be 7.5 years too .....

We all know that problems facing Pakistan are largely internal - poverty breads extremism. Illiteracy leads to radicalism and recruitment tool for Jihadist groups. Poor health, makes people do desperate thing for survival. All that ails Pakistan is due to rampant corruption; misplaced priorities, excessive spending on defense and armaments and lack of good educational institutions and system.
No one will worry about trying to impress external powers with a dependency on remittances and a begging bowl in hand. However, strategic alliances, economic and military alliances that balance your external sources is in the interest of the country - without necessarily cutting ties with one or the other. Take an example of Turkey It is a full member of NATO, Yet has built good relationships with all GCC countries, as well as Iran, fears no external powers, be it US, Russia or Israel. That's called hedging your bets!

How long will we harp on Kashmir ? why have we taken Kashmir as a holy grail ? we have many regions and sectarian troubles all around, yet our military and govt are Kashmir focused. Its sad to see generations after generations, families, businesses, country as whole, all aspects of governance being solely focused on Kashmir.
Lets move on...they have their own areas, and fights to fight with India. We have our own.
The world is more or border less now. Lets use the business and economy as a tool to improve lives and create diplomacy and resolve conflicts. India and China are our neighbors with huge opportunity which the world is using to its advantage and we are staying behind. Next growth is all in Asia.
Its very very very Sad !!!!

our interior minister is more vocal about foreign affairs vs internal state of law and order . He hardly speaks against militant and terror groups who are committing mass murders in the country . He didn't have courage to condemn the acts of terror attacks on innocent people .Parachinar , a small town is bleeding heavily again . But no body cares .The prime minister visited Bahawalpur , but ignored Parachinar . God give our leaders courage to destroy the menace of terrorism and sectarian militancy . Ameen

Pakistan should take firm stand against biased policies and double standards of the United States. It is time to act and approach to the international community to resolve the crisis in the region. Guns will spill more blood in Kashmir. Our voices are not heard abroad because of weak and feeble performance of FO. Lack of access to the international media and lack of circulating information. When ties with US congress are at the lowest level, how can you make your point valid and understandable. India is getting benefit solely for buying arms from US. There is no justice, no human rights, no rights....money speaks language of arms buyers.
