Ingredients
• 4 tablespoon flour
• 2 tablespoon sugar
• 1/2 egg
• 1 tablespoon melted butter
• 3 tablespoon milk
• 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
• 8-10 cherries, seeded
• Few drops vanilla essence (optional)
Method
You can mix the ingredients for this cake in the mug you will be cooking in or in a separate small blow, like I did.
Mix egg, sugar, butter, flour, baking powder and milk. Make sure there are no lumps and now add the seeded cherries. Ask an adult to seed the cherries for you.
Stir gently to mix everything and now pour in a microwave oven proof mug — you don’t have to grease it — and cook for one minute. It should be done at this time, even though it may seem a bit wet on the top. Don’t worry, that’s how all microwave cakes look like. You can cook for 10 or 20 seconds more.
In the microwave, if a cake is overcooked, it becomes rubbery. You can reduce the cooking time a bit when you make it again.
You can have this cake plain, like I did or use anything, like cream, fresh cherries, syrups, for topping it. I wanted to enjoy the rich cherry taste so kept it plain.
