MARDAN: Students of private schools secured the top three positions in the Secondary School Certificate examinations results announced by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Mardan, here on Tuesday.

Bahram Khan, a student of Quaid-i-Azam Public School Zaida Swabi, grabbed the top position, securing 1,051 marks out of total 1,100 marks.

The results were announced by Mardan board officials at a ceremony. PTI MNA Ali Mohammad Khan was the chief guest. Parents and relatives of the top 20 position holding students also attended the ceremony.

Moiz Ahmad of Oriental Public School Mardan, Marwa Noor and Dua Bibi of Quaid-i-Azam Girls Public School, shared the second position with 1,049 marks each. Two students -- Tasdeeq Anwar of Quaid-i-Azam Girls Public School and Yumna Najum of Model High School Akora Khattak Nowshera -- shared the third position, obtaining 1,048 marks each.

All the three toppers belonged to science group. In humanities group, Iram Sheeraz of Moon Light Public High School Topi Swabi, clinched top position with 943 marks, while Arooba and Wajeeha Afridi of Presentation Convent High School Risalpur, got second position and Shandana Zeb of Presentation Convent High School Risalpur obtained third position.

MNA Ali Khan gave away cash prizes of Rs50,000, Rs45,000 and Rs40,000 along with gold medals to the toppers of both the science and arts groups.
