SWABI: Swabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the first established body of entrepreneurs in the district, has asked the traders and business community to come forward and play their role in boosting trade activities in the environment dominated by the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project.

They were addressing a press conference here Sunday to announce the chamber’s registration. The chamber’s members who established and registered it with the Directorate General of Trade Organisations, Ministry of Commerce, Islamabad, termed it their success. The Swabi chamber is not only governed by Gadoon Amazai Industrial Estate entrepreneurs, but industrialists from across the district are part of it.

Mohammad Zahid Shah, president of Gadoon Industrial Association (GIA), along with other members is among founders of the new body. Mr Shah has been nominated as the first president of Swabi chamber and other office-bearers include Mohammad Israr Khan, senior vice-president, Fazal Rahim, vice-president, Babar Humayun, vice-president, and Nadar Khan, secretary general.
