MARDAN: Awami National Party provincial president Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has asked opposition parties not to seek resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif before the Supreme Court gave its verdict on the findings of the JIT.

Addressing a public meeting in PK-23 constituency here on Sunday, the former chief minister said the ANP won’t join any anti-government agitation to demand resignation of the prime minister before any judgment of the apex court in that regard.

“ANP will continue to make efforts to strengthen the democratic system in the country,” he stressed.

He criticised the PML-N-led central government for focusing only on Punjab province.

Mr Hoti alleged that both Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and PTI chief Imran Khan had ignored Pakhtuns, and urged the people to join hands with the ANP for resolution of their problems. He claimed that the ANP had long been struggling for prosperity of Pakhtuns.

He insisted that the ANP would clean sweep the coming general elections as people of KP had got fed up with the PTI-led coalition government.

He said his party was regaining its popularity among the people as they had realised their mistake of voting PTI to power which had badly failed to deliver.
