SWABI: Sixty-seven dynamites, 200 detonators and 150 yard safety fuse were recovered from two persons here on Monday, police said.

Sources in police told Dawn that investigation was underway to know whether the arrested persons had any link with militants. They said initial investigations revealed that they wanted to take all the materials to the Gadoon Amazai mountainous belt.

When contacted, SHO Gadoon Industrial Estate police station Shafiq Khan said the police accompanied by quick response force personnel stopped a rickshaw at the Bisak bus stop on Topi-Utla road, which appeared from the Gandaf side.

He said when the police searched the three-wheeler, they recovered the explosives. Kajeer Khan, the rickshaw driver, belongs to Shewa village and the dynamites owner Akhtar Khan hails from Dir Colony Peshawar.

They were shifted to an undisclosed location for further investigation.

DPO Mohammad Sohaib Ashrif said those who facilitated the militants would not be spared. He said in last few days several facilitators of terrorists had been arrested and the crackdown on such elements would continue.
