LAHORE: The Pakistan Basketball Federation announced on Wednesday that it would stage the 1st Agha Arshad Memorial Basketball Tournament here next month.

Late Arshad was a legend in the national basketball who served Pakistan at the international level from 1969 to 1978 during which he also led the national side.

After his retirement as a player Arshad also coached Pakistan on the tour of Malaysia in 1988 and the SAF Games in India in 2016.

Khalid Bashir, the Pakistan Basketball Federation secretary, said that top teams from departments and divisions will participate in the event and it will be part of the calendar activities of the federation.

He added the final dates of the tournament will be announced soon.
