TIMERGARA: Jamaat-i-Islami chief Sirajul Haq has said that Supreme Court should announce its verdict on Panama Papers case without further delay as nation is waiting for it.

Addressing a public meeting in Haya Serai Maidan here on Monday, he alleged that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was facing crisis for executing Mumtaz Qadri and promoting interest-based economy in the country.

The JI chief said that it was start of downfall of Nawaz Sharif and there was no one to protect him. He said that a total of 435 individuals including judges, bureaucrats and businessmen were involved in Panama Papers case. He added that JI wanted indiscriminate accountability of all of them.

Mr Siraj said that JI would hold a jirga of politicians, traders and civil society members on the issues of Malakand train project and unscheduled power outages. Provincial Minister for Finance Muzafar Said, MNA Sahibzada Yaqub Khan, MPAs Saeed Gul and Izazul Mulk Afkari, JI district emir Maulana Asadullah and JI Maidan emir Haji Fazal Wahab also addressed the meeting.

Mr Siraj said that prolonged power outages had made life of people miserable in Dir. He said that JI would hold a jirga on Malakand train project and power loadshedding in the area. He said that all political leaders, representatives of traders, and members of social society organisations would be invited to attend the jirga at Fishing Hut soon.

The JI chief said that a joint strategy would be evolved during the jirga to include Malakand train project in China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Speaking on the occasion, Muzafar Said announced construction of Bab-i-Maidan monument while local MPA Saeed Gul said that work on development projects in his constituency was in progress.

Several political workers from PTI, PPP and ANP on the occasion announced to join JI.

HAIRDRESSERS: Sulemani Welfare Hairdressers Association central president Mohammad Aslam Stylo said here on Monday that nearly 2.7 million members of his community were serving people in the country but none of the successive governments tried to resolve their problems.

Addressing a convention of hairdressers in Zawal Baba area, he said that their association initiated several projects for welfare of the hairdressers like setting up blood bank, arranging collective marriages and providing scholarships to their children.

Hairdressers from all parts of Malakand division attended the convention, which was also addressed by MPA Bakht Baidar Khan, Sulemani Welfare Hairdressers Association vice president Gohar Ali, provincial president Mohammad Sharif Kahlo, Lower Dir president Qajeer Gul, general secretary Adil Khan, Anjuman Tajaran Timergara president Haji Anwarud Din and district councillor Alamzeb.

Mr Stylo demanded of the government to establish a training centre for hairdressers so that trained and qualified youth could join the profession.
