HYDERABAD: Overjoyed activists of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and other parties across Sindh poured out onto the streets where they danced and distributed sweets after TV channels flashed news about the Supreme Court’s verdict in Panama Papers case on Friday, disqualifying Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and taking punitive action against his family members.

In Karachi, PTI activists took out a rally and in Hyderabad, workers of PTI, Jamaat-i-Islami (JI), Jamiat Ulema-i-Pakistan (JUP) Noorani, All Pakistan Muslim League and Sindh Untied Party (SUP) brought out rallies and gathered outside the press club to celebrate the court verdict.

PTI activists led by Dr Mustansir Billa were the first to reach the press club where they raised slogans in support of Imran Khan and judiciary and danced to drumbeats in jubilation.

Activists of JI offered thanksgiving prayers on the Station Road while All Pakistan Muslim League took out a rally to celebrate the verdict. JUP workers distributed sweets at the press club and staged a rally outside Ghausia mosque in Phuleli area.

Activists of SUP also took out a rally and said the judgment had proved that Mr Sharif was corrupt to the core who amassed great fortune from ill-gotten public money.

SUKKUR: Workers of PTI, PPP and PML-F took out rallies and distributed sweets in Sukkur, Jacobabad and other towns to express their joy at the Supreme Court verdict.

In Sukkur, workers of PTI, PML-F and PPP took out rallies from their offices to the press club and distributed sweets among people. The workers danced to the beat of drums and distributed sweets.

In Jacobabad, workers of PTI and PPP took out rallies from their offices up to the press club where their leaders made speeches.

PTI leaders said that the Sharif family had plundered public wealth and laundered it to foreign countries to invest in businesses abroad.

Strict security arrangements were made in Jacobabad and police patrolling was intensified to maintain peace throughout the day.

MIRPURKHAS: Scores of PTI workers took to the streets, danced and exchanged congratulations over the apex court decision while raising slogans in support of Imran Khan.

Activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan and Pakistan Peoples Party also expressed pleasure at the court decision but obviously, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz workers were in shock while majority of people in the streets supported the court verdict.

MITHI: PTI workers took out a rally to celebrate the apex court verdict and exclaimed that the credit for the disqualification of prime minister went only to their leader Imran Khan who pursued the case with a strong will and grit.

Local party leaders said while talking to journalists that they hoped the courts would now go after other members of the ‘corrupt mafia’ like Asif Ali Zardari and hold him accountable for ‘massive corruption’.

BADIN: PTI workers took out a rally and distributed sweets among masses in jubilation over the apex court verdict against the prime minister.

PTI leaders Ghulam Rasool Memon, Zubair Fazli and others who led the rally said that the court had set a precedent by taking action against Mr Sharif and hoped the country would soon get rid of all members of the corrupt mafia.

The party workers also brought out a rally in Matli.

UMERKOT: PTI activists rejoiced over the disqualification of the prime minister and took out rallies in Umerkot and Kunri towns, raising a new slogan of “Gone Nawaz gone”.

PTI MNA Lalchand Malhi, who led the rally to the Umerkot press club, told journalists that the court verdict was the culmination of a long struggle launched by Imran Khan 20 years ago against corruption. The process of accountability would not stop at Nawaz Sharif and would extend to all ‘corrupt politicians’ of PML-N and PPP including Mr Zardari.

In Kunri town, PTI leader Dr Dost Mohammad Memon led a rally and felicitated the entire nation over the landmark decision, which, he believed, put fear in the hearts of corrupt politicians.
